Mr.Ramírez: Day to Night

Sweater, leather bag and boots from Zara. Jeans from Levis. Ring vintage.

A little bit of sequins never killed anybody, but when it comes to me… I just like more than a few to get a killer look. I found this cool light grey sweater at Zara and I immediately fell in love with it. I wore it for the Nolcha Fashion Week event, where my friend Sofía Arana presented her spring-summer 2015 collection. I matched up with a dark blue jean and rustiest combat boots to get a cool 80’ish retro vibe. What I like the most about the sweater is how practical can be to use it from day to night. The groovy pattern of the sequins just made it even perfect. Is a statement piece to kick-off every entrance no matter what. Go ahead and put on some sparkle in your daily and party looks. Rihanna said it right, we can all shine bright!

Mr.Ramírez: Back in Town

Cap, shirt, shades and trousers from H&M. Leather clutch bag, sneakers and socks from Zara.

After a refreshing vacation in my native Puerto Rico, this islander is back in town! The past few weeks in NYC have been totally exciting and busy! As we know, NYFW is a time to see and connect with the industry people. For instance, I had the pleasure of attending the debut presentations of Puerto Rican designers Luis Antonio and Stella Nolasco at MBFW. Their collections were stunning and it was great to see familiar faces at the show. Later that week I met up with photographer Ale Poveda to style model Bianca Hepburn, the Australian girl who closed the Chanel Dallas Cruise Collection in Tokyo. She was everything! I also got together with photographer Enrique Vega to style a fashion story with plus size model Erica Jean for the November issue of Veintitantos Magazine (Mexico). I’ve been working with a few plus size girls lately and I have to say, I’m also, all about the bass!! I can’t wait to share my new work with you all, good things are coming. In the meantime, I give a big welcome to the fall season! Bring it!

Diary: Revamping

It’s that time of the year; today’s the first day of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York and that means the beginning of the runway show season for spring-summer 2015. Because of that I decided that today was the perfect time to announce that I’m in the making of something hype and better…ZIG ZAG is starting a new season. Oh yeah, I’m officially back on the blogosphere. More editorials, street styles, behind the scenes, trend reviews and my experiences around the city are on the way. Therefore, changes are coming and I can’t wait to share them with all of you. And speaking of fashion week, this time I’m extra excited because two Puerto Rican fashion designers – Luis Antonio and Stella Nolasco - are presenting their own collections at NYC’s Lincoln Center for the first time this weekend. Also my designer’s friends, Sofía Arana and Héctor Omar are going to make a debut in the big city. WERK!!! The great thing about this’s that I’m going to be able to support them and be part of one of the most important events around the world. Yes, things are looking really fresh and stylish these days and I couldn’t be happier. Well’ read us soon!
